City offers free sand bags--you fill
The rains are back and that is a graphic reminder that flooding could soon be with us.
That means it is not a minute too early to start preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.
The City of Auburn is helping out by making sand bags available to the public beginning tomorrow, Thursday, October 15.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to dusk,the sand bag operation will be at Les Gove Community Campus, 910 Ninth St. SE. Sandbags will be located at the SE corner of the park, accessible from 12th St.
On Saturdays, the sand bags will be in two locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The other is Fulmer Field, 5th and K St. NE. Sandbags will be located in the parking lot.
Each customer will be limited to 30 bags per trip. That is about a half ton of sand.
Tools and sand will be provided fill bags. Volunteers will be on-hand as available to help fill and load bags.
Groups and individuals interested in volunteering to fill sandbags for the public should contact Emergency Management at (253) 876-1925 to schedule a time.
