Two injured in rollover crash
911

A young man and woman were injured early Friday when the car they were in flipped over, and it took firefighters nearly an hour to cut the woman from the mangled wreck.

Officials said the the man lost control of the Mazda Miata, causing the vehicle to flip off the road in 28200 block of Green River Road about 1:45 a.m.

They were to call 911, but they didn't know exactly where they'd crashed, so the emergency dispatcher used the cell phone's GPS locator to help direct emergency crews to the crash site.

The woman was pulled out quickly, but the bent metal of the wrecked car pinned the man inside.

Crews had to bring in cutting tools to safely get the man out, and firefighters say it was one of the most difficult vehicle rescues they've ever had to do.

The man and woman were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. They were both conscious when they were loaded into medic units, but their exact conditions were not known.

Police said both are in their early 20s.

Investigators are trying to determine exactly what caused the driver to lose control of the car, but officials say speed and alcohol may have been involved.
