Man shot by deputies, taken to Harborview

A man was wounded by King County Sheriff's deputies who were serving a warrant on another man Saturday evening.

Deputies were at a home in the 37600 block of 42nd Avenue South between Auburn and Federal Way around 5 p.m. to serve a warrant, said Katie Larson with the sheriff's office.

The man who was the subject of the warrant was arrested without incident, but officers didn't know a second man was in the home, Larson said.

That man came out and deputies believed that man was going for a weapon, Larson said.

Deputies opened fire and wounded that man. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle but his condition is not known.

The man has not been identified. Detectives are still investigating the scene.
