Look for a new traffic light at W. Main next week | Transportation

Next week, drivers turning left at West Main Street and West Valley Highway will see improved traffic flow, thanks to a new light being installed.

The city says traffic will improve in the area after installation of a new signal incorporating flashing yellow arrows for the left turns, which are scheduled for activation Wednesday.

“A flashing yellow arrow indication means left turns are permitted, with caution, after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians,” according to the city. “The new flashing yellow arrow replaces and has the same meaning as the current green ball indication for yielding left turns, but does not replace the meaning of the solid yellow arrow.”
